Legacy Harbour, a Fort Myers marina rebuilt after Hurricane Ian, reopens with 131 slips

Why this matters

Four years from storm to reopening is the main detail here. The design claims are the marina's own account, and a rebuild is proven by how it handles a serious storm.

Hurricane Ian badly damaged Legacy Harbour Marina in September 2022. Construction on its redevelopment began in early 2025, according to the marina, and Boating Industry and Trade Only Today report that it reopened in late September 2026 with 131 slips. It sits on the Caloosahatchee River in Fort Myers, in southwest Florida.

Both outlets put the redevelopment at about $15 million, covering the marina, a harbormaster building and on-site amenities. AIRN Management directed the work, in partnership with Bellingham Marine. Trade Only Today reports that AIRN owns the marina, which operates under a lease with the City of Fort Myers.

Boating Industry reports that the redesign, according to the marina, includes a concrete wave attenuator system from Bellingham Marine on steel piles, along with new utilities such as in-slip pump-out and fire suppression. Those are the marina’s own descriptions, and neither outlet reports how the design has performed in a storm. The outlets also differ on slip sizes: Boating Industry says 30 to 140 feet, Trade Only Today 40 to 150.
